Announcing the Briarpatch 2026 Annual General Meeting!

Do you love Briarpatch? Interested in peeking behind the scenes of our fiercely independent magazine? Interested in joining our fabulous Board of Directors as we embark on the implementation of our strategic plan? Keep on reading!

In October of 2023, Ivy & Dean Consulting ran sessions with key Briarpatch community members both past and present. From these consultations, and further work with the current Briarpatch Board of Directors, four key priority areas for the magazine to turn its attention to were identified:

Working Conditions
Board Engagement
Financial Sustainability
Provincial (Saskatchewan) / National Balance

With the guidance of the Briarpatch community, we have been continuously working towards these goals.

To learn more about how we’ve approached these important goals over the past year, and what that will mean for the future of the magazine, come to our AGM on September 22, 2026!

If you in particular have an interest or expertise in strategic plans in non-profit or publication spheres, love project management and that serotonin boost you get when you cross something off your list, come join our Board! We are looking to fill two positions to help us with implementing this strategic plan and enable our plucky little magazine to continue delivering trustworthy grassroots reporting and analysis, while ensuring our work and workplace reflects the values we champion.

Attending the AGM

The AGM will be held on September 22, 2026 at 7 p.m. CST (Regina time) on Zoom.

To attend the AGM, you must be a Briarpatch member. To become a Briarpatch member, we require a $1 membership fee. You can pay your membership fee by e-transfer to publisher [at] briarpatchmagazine.com, or you can drop by our office at 2138 McIntyre Street in Regina, SK during business hours to pay with cash or a cheque.

Submitting a motion

Have a motion you’d like the Briarpatch community to consider? To submit a motion for our membership to consider, please send it via email to chair [at] briarpatchmagazine.com by September 15, 2026.
